i used to use darkplaces for quake but i had some issues with my mouse, so i searched for alternatives. the most vanilla is quakespasm. quakespasm-spiked if you want unlocked framerate. there's also FTE which has a lot more options than darkplaces. i recommend to try it. I'm looking for two seperate source ports if need be. One for SP that adds nice things like wide screen and maybe redone graphics and high resolutions. The other type is for mp that adds some nice things but mainly keeps it near the origonal quake 2 mp experiance without overdoing things. I have read through posts on here and can't find.
