Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Michelle Barrows
Highway Superintendent: James Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Bookkeeper Ruth Roark, Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene, Justice Greene, Assessor David Rhea and several town residents
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:15 PM.
Minutes of the Budget Workshop Meeting held on November 19, 2012 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on December 11, 2012 were read and approved by Councilmember Barrows, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Minutes of the Workshop Meeting held on December 17, 2012 were read and approved by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Supervisor’s report, Abstracts #1 General Fund #1 through #20 totaling $24,713.49 and Highway Fund #1 through #24 totaling $61,807.30 were approved on motion by Councilmember Luther second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Supervisor Bagetis stated his goal for this year is to get the budget worksheets as accurate as possible, so only expenditures from the current year are shown on the budget worksheets. Overall the budget figures for 2012 were good.
CODES: Yearly report given to Supervisor. Greene stated the permits were up approximately 19% for this year.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale gave board members quotes for a new pressure washer from Pressure Washer Repair & Sales Center at the price of $2,500.00, he stated the one that is at North Lake is twenty years old. Nightingale would like to keep the old one if it can be repaired at a minimal cost.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to purchase the pressure washer at the cost of $2,500.00, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Councilmember Roark made a motion to put a limit of $600.00 for repairs of the old pressure washer, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Nightingale gave board members a quote for a new 2013 GMC Crew Cab from GM Global Connect for the price of $27,447.45.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to put the truck out for bids to open at the next meeting, bids to be sent to dealers in a 300 mile radius, second by Councilmember Barrows. So carried
RECREATION: Supervisor Bagetis stated the materials have been delivered for the retrofitting of the pavilion for the ice skating rink, he is looking for volunteers to help.

RESIGNATION: Councilmember Roark made a motion to accept Marsha Hardesty’s resignation from the Board of Assessment Review effective immediately, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
COMMUNITY INPUT: Jody Reynolds stated she has called the Dog Control Officer and she has not responded. Wayne Reynolds stated he witnessed a Town employee putting town gasoline in his personal vehicle; he would like to know if the gas tank is metered and reported. He also suggested that a camera should be put on the pump and live streamed on the website.
Nightingale responded and stated the gas pump is metered and reported, and any gas that was put in a Town employee’s personal vehicle was recorded, signed for and paid for by that employee. The board will take Wayne’s recommendation under advisement.
Supervisor Bagetis made a motion to adjourn at 8:07 PM, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
