Workshop Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Ed Luther, Gordon Roark Absent Michelle Barrows
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale Absent
Also present: Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene, Recreation Commission Members Karen Mowers, Dave Mower, Peter Rashford and Bert Lawson
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
OHIO FIELD DAYS: Karen Mowers gave out a schedule of events for the Ohio Field Days, after discussing the events and costs Councilmember Roark made a motion for the Town to pay for the cost of the fireworks at $2,500.00, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Dave Mower reported he was able to have all the trophies for the tractor, lawnmowers and ATV pulls donated by local businesses.
Supervisor Bagetis would like everyone to think about some future priorities for the park, as he needs to have a written plan for most grants that may become available.
Painting of the floors, walls, repairing the ceiling and bathrooms was discussed. Supervisor Bagetis stated the board had decided to paint the floors at this time, he will go to Urbanik’s and purchase the paint for the floors and ask about what kind of paint could be used on the walls.
SNOW BASH: Supervisor Bagetis gave out a Current Town arrangement with the Snowmobile Clubs use of the park pros and cons. Supervisor Bagetis would like a written agreement with the Ohio Ridge Riders for the Snow Bash for liability issues. The use of the park for the snowmobile club was discussed; everyone was in agreement that there should be a written agreement with the snowmobile club renting the park for the weekend. Supervisor Bagetis will contact the Town’s insurance carrier to discuss liability, and he will contact the snowmobile club and request a meeting.
SUMMER PROGRAM: Supervisor Bagetis stated he has received a letter from the Town of Norway Supervisor Judy Gokey regarding the Board’s decision that only Town of Ohio residents can attend the summer program. Supervisor Bagetis sent her a letter explaining the Board’s decision.
DOG CONTROL OFFICER: Supervisor Bagetis interviewed two applicants. Councilmember Luther made a motion to hire Gary Phillips Jr. for the position, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.

ORRC LAND PURCHASE: Ohio Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club is donating some more land to the Town; Supervisor Bagetis will meet with Carl Irwin regarding the purchase and filing of the property.
Supervisor Bagetis stated the 2012 Q4 state filing was not received by the state in a timely manner so there will be a $1,800.00 fine. He is unsure what happened as he believes it was filed, but is researching it and he will try to get a refund if possible.
TOWN SIGN: Councilmember Roark stated the town sign on State Route 8 is broken. The Town logo was discussed and Supervisor Bagetis to contact Tim Rachon to get an estimate for a new sign and logo. Peter Rashford will also do an estimate.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:50 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
