Meeting, March 11, 2014


Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building


The following Officials were present:

Deputy Supervisor: Jeff Greene

Town Clerk: Sandra Gates

Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Jason Maher

Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale

Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Bookkeeper Ruth Roark and several Town residents.


The meeting was called to order by Deputy Supervisor Greene at 7:00 PM.

 The Pledge of Alligiance was said by all.

 Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on Feburary 11, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.

 Supervisor’s report and Abstract #3 General Fund #56 through #79 totaling $26,686.87 and Highway Fund #60 through #84 totaling $87,549.51 were approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.


CODES: Monthly report given to Supervisor. Jeff attended Codes training last week.


HIGHWAY: Nightingale stated as of March 15 roads will be posted for weight limit. In the spring he will put up a sign on Atwood Lake Road for the trail.

John Deere Loader has a blown head gasket. Five Star Equipment has given him a loaner. He will get an estimate for the repairs.

The new truck has been delivered to Syracuse, but the plow equipment will not be installed until April.

Nightingale stated the North Lake Road is holding up well with the heavy truck traffic.

He has called New York State to have signs installed on State Route 8 for rough road. He requested that residents call and complain about the state road condition.


 SARA GRANT: The Sara Grant has been submitted to digitize select archived records and to institue a computerized records management system.


 RECREATION: The ice machine was repaired by the Highway Department.


COMMUNITY: Bookkeeper Ruth Roark stated Snyder Fuel is now faxing all the invoices the day after they deliver, which makes it easier.

 It was requested that Nightingale look at the recreation hall door, as it is sticking on the bottom.


Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 7:20 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
