Meeting, April 08, 2014
Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Jason Maher
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Bookkeeper Ruth Roark, Tax Collector Carol Smith, Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene, Richard and Heather Wright
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Alligiance was said by all.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on March 11, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Minutes of the ATV Workshop Meeting held on March 18, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Luther. So carrried.
Minutes of Insurance Workshop Meeting held on March 25, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Maher, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carrried.
Minutes of the ATV Workshop Meeting held on April 3, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Maher. So carrried.
Supervisor’s report and Abstract #4 General Fund #80 through #101 totaling $31,025.59 and Highway Fund #85 through #106 totaling $124,355.56 were approved on motion by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.
Supervisor gave board members a copy of the Annual Financial Report for 2013 and reconciliation statements and stated both Funds have unexpended funds.

Councilmember Maher made a motion to approve the General and Highway Fund Transfers above, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Supervisor stated he will do an energy report to see where the most expense is at, as energy cost is up about 10%.
CODES: Monthly report given to Supervisor. Jeff stated the new code books should be available in December.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale commended Supervisor Bagetis for his diligent work on the Financial Report.
FEMA money has been paid. CHIPS monies will increase this year.
He has one worker out of work for the next 2-4 months.
He will start work on road repairs.
All trucks are in for cleaning and repairs.
He will get a quote for a vaccum attachment and a mulcher for the Ferris.
He will get a qoute for the painting of truck #3 as it will extend the life of the frame and box.
He would like to have the 1977 loader put out for bids possibly in June.
Councilmember Roark requested that the 1977 loader not be used as it is unsafe.

RECREATION: They are accepting application for a Cook, Activities Director and Assistant Director.
CORRESPONDENCE: Adirondack League Club has notified the Town they have renewed their Alcohol Beverage License.
ALCOHOL PERMISSION: Councilmember Roark made a motion to approve alcohol at the Recreation Building for the following dates: May 10, 2014, May 31, 2014, July 12, 2014 and July 27, 2014, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
TOWN SIGN: The sign is finished and ready for pick up Councilmember Maher will pick it up.
Herkimer County Humane Society, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets found the Shelter to be unsatisfactory.
LAW #1-2014: Supervisor Bagetis has made new maps and he will highlite what roads would possibly be opened. He is working on a standard form to use for the Town roads that will satisfy SEQR.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to have a Workshop Meeing to discuss the trails on Monday April 14, 2014 at the Recreation Building at 6:00 PM, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.
SPRING TRASH DAY: Saturday May 10, 2014 from 8:00 to 12:00 or by appointment.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:15 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
