Meeting, June 10, 2014
Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Jason Maher
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Book keeper Ruth Roark, Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene, Assessor David Rhea and several Town residents.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Alligiance was said by all.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on May 13, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Minutes of the Workshop Meeting held on June 3, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Supervisor’s Report and Abstract #6 General Fund #127 through #154 totaling $31,984.30 and Highway Fund #138 through #165 totaling $57,578.42 were approved on motion by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
CODES: Monthly report given to Supervisor.
BUILDINGS: Supervisor Bagetis stated the quonset hut should not be insulated due to its construction.
BUDGET: Supervisor Bagetis stated that energy cost are up more than was budgeted for.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale gave board members estimates from Suit Kote for pugmill cold paving:
Teacup Street 0.08 miles
Keller Road 0.04 miles
Coonradt Road 0.03 miles
Reese Road 0.02 miles
Conway Road 0.02 miles
Snyder Road and Fisher road intersection
Councilmember Luther made a motion to approve the paving, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.

Nightingale is still working on getting a walking sign for Atwood Lake Road.
Nightingalee would like to advertise for bids, with no minimum amount for the 1977 Trojan Loader and have the bids opened at the July Meeting.
Nightingale thanked everyone for everything they did when his father passed.
Councilmember Roark stated the Twin Lake Bridge does not have a weight limit sign and the guard rails are bent and broken. Nightingale will look at the guard rails and replace the sign.
Councilmember Roark believes there should be some large rocks placed at Reeds Pond. Nightingale will look into it.
RECREATION: Ohio Days will be August 9 and 10, 2014.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to approve the payment for fireworks at the approximate cost of $2,500.00, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Supervisor Bagetis stated the USDA Food Program and the Summer Program are all set and ready to go.
Joe Jones has adjusted the water pressure and put in a water line to the booth building it will be hooked up this week.
CORRESPONDENCE: Supervisor Bagetis read a thank you card from the Nightingale family.
The new Town sign has been installed. Peter Rashford made the design for the sign and he will be paid $250.00 for the design.
ATV LAW 1-2014: Supervisor Bagetis stated it is still on going. Supervisor will make a list of all the roads to be opened and do the paperwork for SEQR on the road conditions. He will also contact Attorney Mowers to review the Law. The following is a possibility of road openings Snyder, Dagenkolb, Reese, Harvey Bridge, Haskell, Hooper Dooper, Crab, Pardeeville/Ohio City and Cummins Roads.
David Rhea would like to see a strong penalty written in the law regarding property damage.
Supervisor Bagetis stated he is still looking at the energy usage.
ASSESSORS: Assessor David Rhea stated there will be a meeting with the Assessors and the Board of Review members on June 11, 2014 at 3:00 PM.
Supervisor Bagetis made a motion to go into executive session to discuss personnel at 8:00 PM, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Councilmember Maher made a motion to return to regular session at 8:20 PM,

Supervisor Bagetis made a motion to rescind the thirty day notice to the Dog Control Officer, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:30 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried..
