Meeting, July 8, 2014
Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Jason Maher
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Book keeper Ruth Roark, Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene, Dog Control Officer Gary Phillips and several Town residents.
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Alligiance was said by all.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on June 10, 2014 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Councilmember Luther made a motion to approve the Standard Workday and Reporting Resolution for Elected and Appointed Officials, second by Councilmember Roark, to be posted on the Town Clerk board for at least thirty days. So carried.
Supervisor’s Report and Abstract #7 General Fund #155 through #179 totaling $20,154.83 and Highway Fund #139 through #191 totaling $109,414.80 were approved on motion by Councilmember Maher, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
ACCOUNT TRANSFERS: Councilmember Luther made a motion to approve the following Highway and General Fund transfers:
HIGHWAY FUND $4,818.00 from account DA5112.2 to DA5112.1
$6,953.09 from account DA5112.2 to DA5112.4
GENERAL FUND $ 339.90 from account A1910.4 to A1110.4
$ 443.75 from account A1910.4 to A7110.4
$ 317.37 from account A1910.4 to A7140.4
$ 178.15 from account A1910.4 to A7520.1
$ 89.94 from account A1910.4 to A7520.4
Second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
CODES: Monthly report given to Supervisor.
BUDGET: The purchase of the roller will come from CHIPS monies, payroll and some fuel cost will be budgeted from the CHIPS monies for road improvements.
Supervisor Bagetis stated fuel and electrical cost are higher this year. He is still looking into the energy useage.
BIDS for 1977 Trojan Loader: One bid was opened from Ron Henry in the amount of $2,000.00 for the Loader. Councilmember Luther made a motion to approve the bid,

second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
RECREATION: Supervisor bagetis stated the Summer Program started on Monday and seems to be running smoothly.
GRANT: Supervisor Bagetis stated he was approved for a $10,000.00 Grant from Mohawk Valley Healthnet for playground equipment. He would like to replace the slide and purchase two other pieces. The grant for the slurry on the fitness trail was denied, so he will have it rolled and possibly slurry at a later date.
OHIO DAYS: Recreation Commission is working on it.
APA PROJECT: Adirondack Park Agency sent a minor project public notice application determination APA Project #2014-70 was approved on or near Gray Wilmurt Road.
AUDIT: The State Comptrollers Office has some questions concerning the audit and David Read will address them.
ATV LAW 1-2014: Attorney Mowers has researched the law and believes as long as it only affects personal property and Town Roads, the Town does not need to contact the Adirondack Park Agency.
Supervisor Bagetis made a motion to hold a Workshop meeting on Monday July 14, 2014 to discuss identifing the Town Roads and existing trails. He would like to narrow down the list of roads and segment to be included in the proposed Law, based on the trail permissions obtained from landowners, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carrried.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale stated the new truck will be here on Monday.
Nightingale stated he will oil and stone Atwood Lake Road and eliminate the slurry for Kelly Road.
Councilmember Luther would like a log kept for equipment that is used for the Shared Service Agreements and what we use from other Towns.
Nightingale stated he does have a log and it evens out over time.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
