Workshop April 23 2015

Financial Workshop Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Town Office

 

The following Officials were present:

Supervisor: Scott Bagetis

Town Clerk: Sandra Gates

Councilmembers: Ed Luther, Jason Maher and Gordon Roark Absent: George Lawson

Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale

Also present: Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene

 

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 6:00 PM.

 

Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.

 

Supervisor Bagetis gave board members copies of General Fund and Highway Reconciliation of Cash, General Fund and Highway Fund Budget vs Actual for 2014.

 

Supervisor Bagetis suggested an auditing board if we continue with Day, Read and Scarafile or a CPA to audit the books. Board members should be more involved with the auditing.

He has resolved the Trust & Agency Account balance. He will now make follow up with phone calls for any checks that have not been cashed after thirty days.

Councilmember Maher suggested getting an estimate of cost for a CPA to do the auditing.

 

ASSESSOR: Supervisor Bagetis stated Assessor Brian Fitts believes he has received all but two star applications.

 

TRASH DAY: There will be an electronic dumpster box and Nightingale will ask if there is any extra cost. He will have signs made for the dumpsters saying “scheduled dumping only”.

 

HIGHWAY: Nightingale stated CHIPS monies can purchase the Everest SDS Side Dump Spreader Body.

The new pick up should be delivered within the next couple of weeks.

 

SHARED SERVICES AGREEMENTS: Nightingale has a log of all help given to other Towns and a log for help other Towns have given him.

 

BUILDINGS: The Vendor/Food Booth roof was discussed. Councilmember Maher would like the roof to get started.

The Maurice Luther sign needs to be ordered.

 

RECREATION: The benefit for a child with cancer has been scheduled for July 12, 2015 at the Recreation Field. Councilmember Luther would like to know if the Town’s insurance company will cover the event.

 

 

Councilmember Roark made a motion to adjourn at 8:00 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
