Minutes May 2015
Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Ed Luther, Gordon Roark and Jason Maher
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Jeff Greene Codes Enforcement Officer and several Town residents
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
Minutes of the Public Hearing held on April 14, 2015 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on April 14, 2015 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried. Minutes of the Workshop Meeting held on April 16, 2015 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Maher, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried. Minutes of the Financial Workshop Meeting held on April 23, 1015 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.
Supervisor’s Report and Abstract #5 General Fund #103 through #126 totaling $44,411.19 and Highway Fund #124 through #166 totaling$70,610.38 were approved on motion by Councilmember Maher, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Supervisor Bagetis gave board members a copy of the Annual Financial Report that was filed with the State. He stated the Trust & Agency balance was adjusted to reflect the actual amount of money in the account.
Supervisor Bagetis stated the NYS Comptroller’s Office does not recognize an EA which is what our accountant David Read is . He suggested hiring a CPA Certified Public Accountant or continue with David Read and an auditing board. He has made phone calls to get estimates for a CPA.
CODES: Monthly report given to Supervisor. Jeff will be retiring on June 24, 2015. Board members can we can re appoint him on June 25, 2015.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale read the Highway Agreement and had the board members sign it. He will be working on the Christman and Reese Road, Fisher Lane and various intersections. He will address the Figert Road if there is any CHIPS monies left.
Nightingale would like to organize the dump area. He will get a quote for concrete ballards.

RECREATION: Councilmember Roark made a motion to hire Aime Robinson as Summer Program Director, Karen Smith as Assisstant Director, Christine Coe as
Activities Director and he is interviewing for the Cook position, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
BALLPARK: Nightingale will have the garden hose hooked up at the field to help cut down on the dust. The new ball field needs to have a smaller infield. Nightingale to install the new back stop and leave the field sodded to see how it works.
PARK TRAIL: Supervisor Bagetis has an estimate from Suit Kote for paving the trail of $4,594.43. Councilmember Roark made a motion to approve the cost, second by Councilmember Maher. So carried.
CORRESPONDENCE: The William Hart Memorial Benefit will be held on May 16.
The Hart family sent a thank you letter to the Town and Town residents for the luncheon that was given.
ATV LAW #2-2015: Board members went over the law and would like the time limit to be eliminated, they would like the trail to end at the Town of Russia trail.
PARK FACILITIES: Councilmember Maher made a motion to have the booth building re roofed, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried. Nightingale to have the ceiling tiles in the recreation hall replaced.
Councilmember Roark would like the Town Decal to be on the Roller.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 7:45 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
