Town Receives Grant from Herkimer HealthNet for Skating Rink in Town Park

On December 3rd, the town was notified that it was one of the four towns selected to receive a $ 5,000.00 incentive grant. The town applied for the grant to fund the Recreation Commission's plan to build a skating rink within the town park. The grant money will be used to purchase material to seasonally convert the main pavilion to a skating rink. The retrofit will include a four foot high perimeter sidewall, icerink liner, kickboard, rubber matting, and padding for the perimeter posts. Additionally, money will be used to purchase skates, and signage for the skating rink and the fitness trail.
