Regular Meeting of the Ohio Town Board was held on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the Recreation Building
The following Officials were present:
Supervisor: Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk: Sandra Gates
Councilmembers: George Lawson, Gordon Roark, Ed Luther and Michelle Barrows
Highway Superintendent: Nightingale
Also present: Secretary Pat Reuter, Bookkeeper Julianne Maxwell, Codes Enforcement Officer Greene, Justice Greene, David Read, Katie Read, and several town residents
The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Alligance was said by all.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on July 12, 2012 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther.
Minutes of the Public Hearing held on July 23, 2012 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Barrows.
Minutes of the Workshop Meeting held on July 23, 2012 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Barrows second by Councilmember Roark.
Minutes of the Special Meeting held on July 31, 2012 were read and approved on motion by Councilmember Barrows, second by Councilmember Lawson. So carried.
Supervisor’s Report and Abstract #8 General Fund #167 through #188 in the amount of $26,223.99 and Highway Fund #186 through #203 totaling $47,577.30 was approved on motion by Councilmember Lawson, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
Supervisor Bagetis introduced David Read from Day, Scarfile and Read.
David Read gave board members copies of the financial audit report. He stated everything was in order and went over all the recommendations. He complimented the Town Bookkeeper Julianne Maxwell on the wonderful job she does, and stated she is the best he has ever worked with.
CODES: Monthly report given to the Supervisor.
HIGHWAY: Nightingale thanked all the board members for their help during the Ohio Days.
The underground fuel tank is to be removed tomorrow.
CHIPS paperwork has been submitted. CHIPS Road Projects have been completed for this year.
Road work on State Routes 365 and 8 will begin next week; he is asking other Towns for help with trucking of the millings.
He would like to purchase a leaf bag for the John Deere, he will get a quote.
Roadside Mowing is complete for this year.
He received a quote from Clinton Tractor for a new mower, which he would like to discuss in greater detail at a Workshop Meeting.

He would like to purchase a set of used cordless phones from the Town. Councilmember Lawson made a motion for Supervisor Bagetis to set a price and have Nightingale purchase them, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Snyder and Dagenkolb Roads have been repaired.
He is still waiting for approval from New York State Department of Transportation to put benches at the Noblesboro Bridge Scenic Overlook. A letter campaign to the NYSDOT might help.
RECREATION: Supervisor Bagetis stated the Ohio Days were well attended and went very good. He would like to recognize and thank David Mowers for the Tractor Pulls, the Highway Department personnel for their work on the fields, Karen and Mark Mowers for helping make it a success, Bert Lawson for the wonderful parade, Dick Chrisman and Samantha Taylor, and to all the Councilmembers.
Nightingale Thanked Supervisor Bagetis for being so cooperative and helpful to everyone involved.
FITNESS TRAIL: Work will begin on the fitness trail after Snowbash; volunteers are still needed for the fitness stations.
RESIGNATION: Supervisor Bagetis received a resignation from the Board of Assessment Review, Dale Maxwell.
Supervisor Bagetis made a motion to go into executive session to discuss union negotiations at 8:05 PM, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to return to regular session at 8:20 PM, second by Councilmember Barrows. So carried.
Councilmember Barrows made a motion to approve Supervisor Bagetis and Councilmember Lawson to be on the Union Negotiations Committee, second by Councilmember Roark. So carried.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:35 PM, second by Councilmember Luther. So carried.
