Regular Meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Ohio was held on Tuesday,
May 8, 2012 at 7:00 PM at the recreation Building
The Following Officials were present:
Supervisor:  Scott Bagetis
Town Clerk:  Sandra Gates
Councilmembers:  George Lawson, Ed Luther, Michelle Barrows and Gordon Roark
Highway Superintendent: Jim Nightingale
Also present:  Secretary Pat Reuter, Book keeper Julianne Maxwell,
Assessors David Rhea and Berdet Barrows, Tax Collector Carol Smith, Justice
Greene, Codes Enforcement Officer Jeff Greene and several Town residents
The Meeting was called to order by Supervisor Bagetis at 7:00 PM.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting held on April 10, 2012 were read and
approved on motion by Councilmember Roark, second by Councilmember Lawson.
So carried.
Minutes of the Workshop Meeting held on April 18, 2012 were read and
approved on motion by Councilmember Barrows, second by Councilmember
Lawson.  So carried.
Supervisor Report and Abstract #5 General Fund #102 through #125 totaling $26,609.33 and Highway Fund #97 through #121 totaling $35,948.18 was approved on
motion by Councilmember Luther, second by Councilmember Barrows.  So
CODES:  Monthly report given to Supervisor.
HIGHWAY: Truck Bid
Councilmember Roark made a motion to approve Nightingale to advertise for
bids the 1990 L 9000 Dump truck with a minimum bid of $7,000.00, second by
Councilmember Lawson.  So carried.
HIGHWAY AGREEMENT:  Nightingale gave Board members a copy of the Highway
Agreement and discussed the road repairs.  CHIPS money for this year is
$118,682.78, and the road repair total is approximately $92,000.00.  Any
money that is left from CHIPS Nightingale would like to oil and stone
Reese Road from ConWay Road to Pardeeville Road.
Councilmember Roark made a motion to approve the proposed Highway
Agreement, second by Councilmember Luther.  So carried.
The Highway Agreement is on file at the Highway Superintendent's Office
and at the Town Clerk's Office.
Councilmember Luther stated he had a call concerning the muddy condition
Of the Hooper Dooper Ave.
Nightingale will revisit the Road.
OHIO DAYS:  Dave Mower is putting together an Antique Tractor Pull.
The Highway Department will help build the track and most of the materials
Dave has gotten donated.
HIGHWAY:  Nightingale stated Herkimer and Oneida County Highway
Superintendents had breakfast with Richard Hanna, to let him know what
their concerns were.
The Super Duty has had four injectors replaced.

Equipment trailer is needed, a new one is approximately $18,000.00 to
20007 used one is $12,300.00.
Supervisor Bagetis gave board members copies of a cost analysis for
Supervisor Bagetis stated that because of the State bid prices the value
of a piece of equipment doesn't depreciate, it appreciates, because the
regular sales price is more than a state bid price.
He also suggested that with any new equipment purchases the bid should
include a guanteed trade in value in two years and three years.
He will discuss this in greater detail at budget time.
RECREATION:  They are working on the Ohio Days and looking for sponsers. 
They are working on the Summer Program.
CORRESPONDENCE:  Councilmember Roark made a motion to approve alcohol at
the recreation Building on July 7, 2012, second by Councilmember Lawson. 
So carried.
Supervisor Bagetis gave out information sheets on the Sirex wood wasp.
COMMUNITY INPUT:  The Noblesboro Bridge Scenic Overview, the Bruderhoff
Community would like to build tables and benches for there.  John Johnson
also volunteered his time to build table and benches if the Town will
supply the materials. Nightingale will contact the State and find out what
can be done.
OLD BUSINESS:  The new telephone system has been ordered for the Town Office.
AT&T and Verizon phones were compared in the Town trucks.  The Verizon
service was better and covered a larger area, the AT&T phones are being
returned. They are still looking at options of cell phones verses the
radio tower.
Supervisor Bagetis is still looking in to National Grid and NYSERDA Grants.
REVALUATION:  Assessor Rhea stated they are on target.  He stated that New
York State land valuation has doubled with the revaluation.
TRASH DAY:  There will be a separate electronic equipment dumpster.
Councilmember Lawson made a motion to adjourn at 8:45 PM, second by
Councilmember Luther.  So carried.
