Ohio Town Park
The Ohio Recreation Commission has re-scheduled the Ohio Days Interest Meeting for Tuesday, June 11. starting at 6:30PM under the pavilion at the town park. This meeting is for all those in the public that want to see the success of last years Ohio Days built upon, to achieve an even more successful event this year. If you want to voice your opinion on how we can improve upon last year, or sign up as a volunteer for this years event, your attendence is welcomed.
03-29-13 It looks like were about at the end of the ice skating season. Judging by the number of people who used the rink, it has been a sucessful first year. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on how we can improve upon what was done this year, we would be happy to hear from you. For those who have signed out skates, please return them to the office, or hand them off to a rec commission member or myself, at your convenience.
Last Saturday work on the skating rink commenced. Water was added earlier this week, and by Friday afternoon the rink is near frozen solid, although the surface is very rough and not in any condition to skate on. Before being opened up for skating, the rink surface will need to be smoothed out by adding additional water, along with a few other areas that require completion. We expect the rink will be open for use, starting Saturday, January 26.
Volunteers gathered at the Ohio Town Park between the hours of 7AM and 6:30PM on Saturday, September 29, 2012 to assemble and install the new fitness trail. Five groupings of 4 individual stations are part of a one mile trail. Volunteers enjoyed the community spirit as they measured, dug, assembled, and cemented in the stations. Lunch was provided courtesy of a town member who was unable to be present for the installation. A Grant from Herkimer HealthNet has provided Ohio residents and visitors an attractive accessible outdoor trail.
